But let's be real : every time we think he's learned something, he's still a doofus who just wants to kill everyone. I think thats part of the story's gruesome, tragic charm ^_^
He doesn't actually want to kill anything, he just wants to *EAT* everything, and for reasons of mental stability he has to kill it first. If there was anything non-sentient for him to eat, that would be a much less hellish world.
What a shame that the one who spent his whole life trying to stay mentally stable got turned onto human emotions. We humans tend to empathize with eachother, but... Thinking about it now - what Alpha did to him with the hormones, from his perspective, is worse than death or torture.
