Interesting last panel.
Reminds me of the art involving robots with human faces with wires on the back.

I guess if he really wanted too. It takes a lot of work to control one's form. With all the creatures here they can turn into things but not a perfect transformation(Like Beastboy always being green in everyform.) In this case it changes unintentually.

can he selectively keep certain abilities (like that acidic breath)or does he just purge every new ability he gained from all those creatures?
I think he's keep somethings. You'll see in a couple pages. It would take a lot of time and energy to change into each creature and see if they have any new ability that's useful. Most of the abilities are same old same old eyes, ears, abilities he already has. They were weak anyway. Saturno would take more care in a form that he got through a one on one fight. The acid breath... that was useful to Saturno as a 10 story beast with a 10+ feet thick stomach wall. A six foot Saturno.. that acid would leak right out of his gut.
Can Intelligent High level creatures like the Club members recognize another creature even if that creature makes a total and radical change over like Saturno just did, similar to how when he returned to the demon world in Ch09 no one recognized him?
Yes. There is a mental imprint on their psychic voices(displayed through the black dialoge bubbles) Each sounds unique. (That was how Alpha reconised Grey as the once little lizard because Grey as a lizard called out to her.) When Saturno returned in chapter 9 he had stopped speaking in public so very few(I'm saying few because Alpha did reconise him) made the connection.
